Freckles are commonly found in fair skinned people and are most prominent during the summer months. Freckles are tiny spots which range in size of a nail head and can be red, tan, brown, black or yellow in color. They usually appear on the nose and cheeks of a person but can also cover the entire face. Freckles are a deposit of skin pigment and because of their concentration they appear darker then the rest of the skin. Freckles become more visible when one is exposed to the sun because of the skin's reaction to the ultra violet rays of the sun like during the summers and most freckles tend to disappear in winters. Freckles are assumed to be hereditary but they pose no medical threat to the person who has them. There are two types of freckles, one which are simple concentration of the skin pigment and is most commonly found to appear on fair skinned children and are medically called ephelis freckle. The other type of freckles appears on older people and is commonly referred to as 'liver spots'. These types of freckles have nothing to do with the liver and no one knows how they came to be called by this name. Commonly freckles appear on areas of the skin that have been exposed to the sun but the ones that are called 'liver spots' can appear anywhere on a persons body and usually look like a drop of brown candle wax. They can range in size from tiny spots to rather large spots.
The common type of freckles found on young people generally disappears with age and it is mostly from childhood through till the early twenties that the freckles remain. If a person remains constantly exposed to the sun like at a sub tropical or tropical resort and wears sleeveless t-shirts, swimwear, etc the freckles can appear on other parts of the body that get sun exposure.
Some youngsters especially girls can get so obsessed about their freckles affecting their appearance that may stop mixing with friends wear heavy makeup to conceal the freckles and try sun blocks, cosmetics, bleaches, etc to make the freckles disappear. It has been found that getting freckles removed even with laser does not work as they tend to reappear once one gets exposed to the sun. Children with freckles do get teased by their friends and also usually get tagged with a nickname. It's not easy being the only child in a group who has freckles. Most freckle faced girls want to know how to get rid of freckles and will consult with their parents, peers and other people; some may even consult a dermatologist. Girls with freckles may either accept them as a part of their growing up or not bother about them and others may feel so embarrassed about them that would refuse to be photographed. Also trying freckle removal creams and other cosmetics becomes an obsession.
On some children cute freckles actually make them look quite lovable and adorable. Some people think sexy freckles make a girl look more attractive but then there are others who say no. Well freckles or no freckles it all depends on the person and if freckles enhance their beauty or not.
Irish freckles bread is a typical Irish bread recipe with potatoes and flour and raisins, or cinnamon, or chopped dates are added to the bread surface and that is why it is named Irish freckles bread.
Freckles cause no harm to the person and anyone who has them must just learn to live with them. Trying to remove freckles will not work as there is no permanent way of removing freckles and hopefully most people find that their freckles disappear with age. One need not fret as they are going to disappear anyway.
