Our feet do a lot of work and yet they remain one of the most neglected parts of our bodies. We walk, we stand, we run and we jog and all these activities take a toll on our feet. Then to make matters even worse we may be wearing the wrong type of shoes. Women wear heels which forces the weight of the body towards the toes or we may wear joggers which are closed and made of a material that does not allow the feet to breath. Men wear nylon socks, women wear nylon stocking which again stops the free circulation of air to the feet. How often does one end up with feet that ache, or have corns on them. During summers people tend to wear open shoes which cause the heels to crack. Some people go with fashion and will get ill fitting shoes. All these factors effect the feet and these body parts that help us get from here to there do require care. One does not have to find a pedicurist when ever their feet pain or the heels get cracked or corns form on the toes. A little daily care of the feet can help save one from a lot of aches and pains.

One must check their feet regularly and using a good foot lotion helps the feet and also relaxes the muscles. Before going to bed one should rub a good foot lotion on their feet and between the toes also make sure that there are no corns or flakey skin forming on the feet. There are plenty of different types of foot lotions that are available and some extol the virtues of having emu oil in them while others will advertise some other skin care product being contained in them. One can also make a foot lotion from simple recipes and save some money on them. Remember using natural products will help and the more one stays away from using any chemicals on their skins the better off they will be. If the feet are dry using a foot lotion that contains any oil is going to help. Soaking the feet in lukewarm water and then gently using a foot scrub to rid the feet of any dry skin will also help. One can use a foot lotion with eucalyptus oil or peppermint oil to relieve the feet and to soften the skin. Should any corns start to appear then the cause is the shoes that one is wearing and in most cases the shoes that one is wearing are too tight or too hard. So if one's feet feel uncomfortable in the shoe that one is wearing one must immediately change one's shoes. Remember once a corn forms on a toe or any part of the foot it is going to be painful and will take a while to get rid off. So be sensible and wear correct comfortable shoes. If one wears stockings or nylon socks and especially during warm weather the skin between the toes may start to peel. This happens because they are not getting enough air and the skin is trapped. If one jogs or exercises or plays any active sport after finishing one should immediately take off their shoes and socks and wash the feet and let them air before putting on the other pair of shoes.

Peppermint foot lotion is recommended for athletes and also for people who walk a lot. One must use a dry foot lotion during summers when the skin tends to get dry or if one is wearing open shoes. The heels during summers generally tend to get dry and crack so using a dry foot lotion if one is on vacation will help keep the skin soft.

Foot lotions are made from different oils like eucalyptus, peppermint, olive, menthol, etc. These oils are then mixed with other ingredients to make a good foot lotion. Bee foot lotion has bees wax mixed in to help and soften the skin. Pink foot lotion is used when a person's feet tend to turn pink due to heat, stress or because of some skin ailment. If it is due to heat or stress use a foot lotion after cleaning the feet.
